Kravis Leadership Institute Social Sector Internships

The Kravis Leadership Institute (KLI) encourages and supports summer internships for CMC students in the social sector. KLI sponsored internships are designed to enable students to work for social service organizations and combine their work experience with the academic requirement of INT 199: Summer Internship in Leadership, for academic credit. Summer internships provide CMC students with multiple opportunities to learn about and to develop personal leadership skills.

The KLI internships are open to all CMC students with preference given to students enrolled in the Leadership Sequence and/or affiliated with KLI. The focus of the KLI sponsored internships is to provide a meaningful experience in a social sector organization and an increased appreciation for social responsibility.

Students must find their own internships, and preference is given to projects that students develop themselves rather than projects initiated by the organizations.

Awards of $3,000 are based on the academic record of the applicant, relevant activities outside of the classroom, letters of recommendation, and the substantive merit of the internship proposal.

All participants are required to complete the requirements on INT 199: Summer Internship in Leadership for academic credit.
